Letters from the Underground 2017

For me personally this night is the new Passover. I will don sackcloth and ashes, eat unleavened bread and bitter herbs, and pray that by morning it was all a nightmare.

Days to Come
Inside me, the tension grows
The disparity between darkness and light
Has never been greater
in my lifetime
I have seen storms come and go
The winds of changes now blow
In the adverse direction
And the future was not built to withstand such assault
In the space between now and ever
A chasm has opened
Growing wider each day
Soon will be uncrossable, I fear
The crying of children yet to be
The wails of children
That is what I hear
And fear most
For I know,
God hears it too…

Instead of watching American Horror Story (Twitler's Inauguration) I watched "Apocalypse Hitler" (taped from AHC on Direct TV) and the movie "1984".

I'm ready.            01/20/2017

When I keep hearing good people tell me that we all need to come together, to make the best of it, to get over it, to work with those who voted for, and continue to support, Trump, I have to ask myself, do I listen to them and submit or do I listen to Thomas Merton :
"Those who are at present so eager to be reconciled to the world at any price must take care not to be reconciled with it under this particular aspect: as the nest of the Unspeakable. This is what too few are willing to see."

Never Submit.

There is a height and a depth to reality that most sleepwalking TV media medicated mass marketed members of the status quo are only vaguely aware of and little understand the implications of. For those who know there is a off button on their TV remote I would recommend a book (published 10 years ago) as an antidote.
Yet, [Warning ! The following may be disturbing to your Weltanschauung] the book by James Douglass,

 ‘JFK and the UNSPEAKABLE

is not something you can ever get over. Ever. It will open eyes. Most will prefer to keep them closed. So much easier to breathe when you don't have the weight of reality on your shoulders. However hard it is, if you consider yourself intelligent, informed, and most of all, compassionate, then please read this book,
JFK and the UNSPEAKABLE.
The "unspeakable" in the title is a reference to the works of
Thomas Merton, in which he described an "unspeakable evil" - “systematic evil that goes beyond the imagination.”
The heights I referred to are represented here on Earth by the likes of Christ, Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and Thomas Merton.
The Depths, by Satan, Hitler, and Trump (a prediction, or prophecy, if you will).

Nietzsche’s Influence on Hitler and the Germany Mythos  of that Time and the Parallels with Our Own(Trump)

A stronger race will drive out the weak races. For the vital urge crushes the weak, to make room for the strong.” - Mein Kampf 1923

Nietzsche was a philosopher of “naturalism” according to the Nietzschean scholar Brian Leiter

per Wikipedia:
Metaphysical Naturalism :
According to Steven Schafersman, geologist and president of Texas Citizens for Science:
"Metaphysical Naturalism is a philosophy that maintains that; 1. Nature encompasses all that exists throughout space and time; and 2. Nature (the universe or cosmos) consists only of natural elements, that is, of spatiotemporal physical substance—mass–energy. Non-physical or quasi-physical substance, such as information, ideas, values, logic, mathematics, intellect, and other emergent phenomena, either supervene upon the physical or can be reduced to a physical account; and 3. Nature operates by the laws of physics and in principle, can be explained and understood by science and philosophy; and 4. the supernatural does not exist, i.e., only nature is real. Naturalism is therefore a metaphysical philosophy opposed primarily by Biblical creationism."

Naturalism, in recent usage, is a species of philosophical monism according to which whatever exists or happens is natural in the sense of being susceptible to explanation through methods which, although paradigmatically exemplified in the natural sciences, are continuous from domain to domain of objects and events. Hence, naturalism is polemically defined as repudiating the view that there exists or could exist any entities which lie, in principle, beyond the scope of scientific explanation.”— Arthur C. Danto, The Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Naturalism

Methodological Naturalism:
Metaphysical naturalism is an approach to metaphysics or ontology, which deals with existence per se. It should not be confused with methodological naturalism, which sees empiricism as the basis for the scientific method.
Regarding science and evolution, Eugenie C. Scott, a notable opponent of teaching creationism or intelligent design in US public schools, stresses the importance of separating metaphysical from methodological naturalism:

“If it is important for Americans to learn about science and evolution, decoupling the two forms of naturalism is essential strategy. ... I suggest that scientists can defuse some of the opposition to evolution by first recognizing that the vast majority of Americans are believers, and that most Americans want to retain their faith. It is demonstrable that individuals can retain religious beliefs and still accept evolution as science. Scientists should avoid confusing the methodological naturalism of science with metaphysical naturalism.”[5]
— Eugenie C. Scott, Creationism, Ideology, and Science” – Wikipedia

In 1934 Hitler was photographed paying homage to a bust of Nietzsche…
The actual “relationship” between the thinking of Hitler and the writings of Nietzsche is subject to speculation due to a lack of evidence proving Hitler read Nietzsche, which leads to the hypothetical possibility that the correlations of ideas expressed by both was, possibly, somewhat coincidental. Yet to my mind that is unlikely. Some sources state that copies of Thus Spake Zarathustra (the classic Nietzsche book) were circulated among the WWI German soldiers by the German Army. Hitler was such a soldier and may have obtained , discussed, or at least knew of the book and the book’s main theme; the “Superman” . What is certain is the National Socialist Party made great use of the “Superman” ideology created by Nietzsche. Many other aspects of Nietzsche’s philosophy were usurped, corrupted and distorted by the NAZIS in ways that would have sickened Nietzsche (he emphatically worried that he would be misinterpreted). Yet the “evidence” I present below shows a real emphatic between the thinking of the two. Hitler and Nietzsche enshrined the importance of “nature” in their writings- Nature was the only God they recognized, in my opinion.
Nature as in, “The strong over the weak”.

“The PSYCHE of the broad masses is accessible only to what is strong and uncompromising. Like a woman whose inner sensibilities are not so much under the sway of abstract reasoning but are always subject to the influence of a vague emotional longing for the strength that completes her being, and who would rather bow to the strong man than dominate the weakling--in like manner the masses of the people prefer the ruler to the suppliant and are filled with a stronger sense of mental security by a teaching that brooks no rival than by a teaching which offers them a liberal choice. They have very little idea of how to make such a choice and thus they are prone to feel that they have been abandoned. They feel very little shame at being terrorized intellectually and they are scarcely conscious of the fact that their freedom as human beings is impudently abused; and thus they have not the slightest suspicion of the intrinsic fallacy of the whole doctrine. They see only the ruthless force and brutality of its determined utterances, to which they always submit.” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.42)

The weaker natures must be told that here it is a case of to be or not to be. I also came to understand that physical intimidation has its significance for the mass as well as for the individual.” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.43)

From page 49 on of my PDF version of Hitler’s manifesto, Mein Kampf, Hitler begins his assault upon the Jews. On page 56 below he speaks of the German worker, who has fallen into what he sees as the fallacy and deceptions of “Democratic Socialism” which he later states is born of Jewish degenerates:

“I was able to understand their position fully. They were dissatisfied with their lot and cursed the fate which had hit them so hard. They hated their employers, whom they looked upon as the heartless administrators of their cruel destiny. Often they used abusive language against the public officials, whom they accused of having no sympathy with the situation of the working people. They made public protests against the cost of living and paraded through the streets in defense of their claims. At least all this could be explained on reasonable grounds. But what was impossible to understand was the boundless hatred they expressed against their own fellow citizens, how they disparaged their own nation, mocked at its greatness, reviled its history and dragged the names of its most illustrious men in the gutter.
This hostility towards their own kith and kin, their own native land and home was as irrational as it was incomprehensible. It was against Nature.
One could cure that malady temporarily, but only for some days or at least some weeks. But on meeting those whom one believed to have been converted one found that they had become as they were before. That malady against Nature held them once again in its clutches.”

“Against Nature”- pure Nietzsche. And apparently pure (sic) Hitler.

“The Jewish doctrine of Marxism repudiates the aristocratic principle of Nature” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.59)
“Nature knows no political frontiers. She begins by establishing life on this globe and then watches the free play of forces. Those who show the greatest courage and industry are the children nearest to her heart and they will be granted the sovereign right of existence.” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.118)
Which leads into his polemic crusade for “racial purity”…
“Even a superficial glance is sufficient to show that all the innumerable forms in which the life-urge of Nature manifests itself are subject to a fundamental law--one may call it an iron law of Nature--which compels the various species to keep within the definite limits of their own life-forms when propagating and multiplying their kind. Each animal mates only with one of its own species.” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.236)
“The stronger must dominate and not mate with the weaker, which would signify the sacrifice of its own higher nature.” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.237)
And from the mythological fantasies of his dementia he resurrects, “The Aryans”…
“The pacifist-humanitarian idea may indeed become an excellent one when the most superior type of manhood will have succeeded in subjugating the world to such an extent that this type is then sole master of the earth.” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.239)
“All that we admire in the world to-day, its science, its art, its technical developments and discoveries, are the products of the creative activities of a few peoples, and it may be true that their first beginnings must be attributed to one race. The maintenance of civilization is wholly dependent on such peoples. Should they perish, all that makes this earth beautiful will descend with them into the grave.” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.240) [- this could have been written by Nietzsche it is so Nietzschean.]
“Every manifestation of human culture, every product of art, science and technical skill, which we see before our eyes to-day, is almost exclusively the product of the Aryan creative power. This very fact fully justifies the conclusion that it was the Aryan alone who founded a superior type of humanity; therefore he represents the archetype of what we understand by the term: MAN.” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.241)
“It was not by mere chance that the first forms of civilization arose there where the Aryan came into contact with inferior races, subjugated them and forced them to obey his command. The members of the inferior race became the first mechanical tools in the service of a growing civilization. Thereby the way was clearly indicated which the Aryan had to follow. As a conqueror, he subjugated inferior races and turned their physical powers into organized channels under his own leadership, forcing them to follow his will and purpose. By imposing on them a useful, though hard, manner of employing their powers he not only spared the lives of those whom he had conquered but probably made their lives easier than these had been in the former state of so-called 'freedom'. While he ruthlessly maintained his position as their master, he not only remained master but he also maintained and advanced civilization. For this depended exclusively on his inborn abilities and, therefore, on the preservation of the Aryan race as such. As soon, however, as his subject began to rise and approach the level of their conqueror, a phase of which ascension was probably the use of his language, the barriers that had distinguished master from servant broke down.” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.245)

This “naturist” interpretation of cruelty is as old as Barbarism, perhaps even reaching back into the caveman days, and is just as primitive and backward and wrong then as it is now. The argument can be made that such brutality and force was required to survive and even, “thrive” back in man’s earliest days as a thinking being, but that is never a real “demanded” justification for cruelty since before the time of Christ- we have the ability to survive nonviolently. It is always, for thousands of years now, a choice. A choice to be human to one another or to choose to believe other humans are just "mechanical tools" - Hitler believed you have the right to abuse or destroy simply because you have the power to do so. This is the definition of EVIL.
According to Hitler, Germany’s humiliation (loss of WWI) was caused by allowing racial impurity and the corresponding cultural infestation of slave morality to breed in the “Fatherland”, i.e., he found a way to blame the Jews for everything wrong with Germany.

“If the Jews were the only people in the world they would be wallowing in filth and mire and would exploit one another and try to exterminate one another in a bitter struggle, except in so far as their utter lack of the ideal of sacrifice, which shows itself in their cowardly spirit, would prevent this struggle from developing.” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.250)
For a moment he appears to recognize their achievements (the existence of Einstein perhaps demanded it):
“That is why the Jewish people, despite the intellectual powers with which they are apparently endowed, have not a culture--certainly not a culture of their own. The culture which the Jew enjoys to-day is the product of the work of others and this product is debased in the hands of the Jew.” - Mein Kampf 1923 (p.251)
But then he is back with the program and apparently they have no redeeming value.
“No; the Jews have not the creative abilities which are necessary to the founding of a civilization; for in them there is not, and never has been, that spirit of idealism which is an absolutely necessary element in the higher development of mankind. Therefore the Jewish intellect will never be constructive but always destructive. At best it may serve as a stimulus in rare cases but only within the meaning of the poet's lines: 'THE POWER WHICH ALWAYS WILLS THE BAD, AND ALWAYS WORKS THE GOOD'” - Mein Kampf 1923 (pp.251-252)
“He will stop at nothing. His utterly low-down conduct is so appalling that one really cannot be surprised if in the imagination of our people the Jew is pictured as the incarnation of Satan and the symbol of evil.”- Mein Kampf 1923 (p.269)
It is obvious that only the strong (for Hitler meaning ONLY Aryans) are allowed by nature to be “ruthless”(p.245) which means cruel, which means evil, as far as I am concerned.
“The life which the Jew lives as a parasite thriving on the substance of other nations and States has resulted in developing that specific character which Schopenhauer once described when he spoke of the Jew as 'The Great Master of Lies'. The kind of existence which he leads forces the Jew to the systematic use of falsehood, just as naturally as the inhabitants of northern climates are forced to wear warm clothes. He can live among other nations and States only as long as he succeeds in persuading them that the Jews are not a distinct people but the representatives of a religious faith who thus constitute a 'religious community', though this be of a peculiar character. As a matter of fact, however, this is the first of his great falsehoods. He is obliged to conceal his own particular character and mode of life that he may be allowed to continue his existence as a parasite among the nations. The greater the intelligence of the individual Jew, the better will he succeed in deceiving others.” Mein Kampf 1923 (p.253)

The pot (Hitler) calling the kettle (the Jews) liars? Really? No lies from German Nazi Propaganda? Jesus.
Hitler was no blond hair, blue eyed Aryan, was he? His obsessions and hatred for the weak was perhaps best explained by the Jungian psychological construct of the “SHADOW” – what Hitler hated was within himself and he ‘projected’ it onto his scapegoats, the Jews. Not only did this phenomena of the Shadow allow him to overlook his own ‘weakness’ but was of course politically expedient in a culture filled with such “shadows”. The accursed “Pacifists”, Jews, Slavs, Gypsys, etc., etc., he repeatedly rails against are not what nature intended for life according to Hitler’s mythos. The strong must be allowed to take by force whatever they want. The weak are to be crushed if they get in the way.
Now substitute Mexican, or Moslem, or Obama for the word Jew and you have

Donald J Trump.

Drumpf 's (original German family name) father supported or was in the KKK

Trump’s father's 1927 Klan riot arrest:

"On Memorial Day in 1927, the Ku Klux Klan marched in the Queens borough of New York City, to protest that "Native-born Protestant Americans" were being "assaulted by Roman Catholic police of New York City."  Fred Trump was one of seven men who were arrested that day "on a charge of refusing to disperse from a parade when ordered to do so. One article on the riot, written in the Long Island Daily Press, said that all seven arrestees were wearing Klan attire. In 2016 Vice magazine speculated that Trump may have been a member of the KKK, which had gone through a revival in urban areas after 1915.
When asked about the issue in September 2015 by the New York Times, Donald Trump denied that his father had been arrested, nor that he was in the KKK.   He also disputed the residency of his father as claimed in the original report (175-24 Devonshire Road, Jamaica). In February 2016, The Washington Post reported that U.S. Census records confirm that Fred Trump resided at that address at the time of his arrest."  - Wikipedia

Donald J. Trump, according to one report, (at least at one time) kept a copy of Mein Kampf on his bedstead…Trump’s bromance with Putin… seems to like dictators…
His election facilitated by Putin ordered DNC hacking…according to multiple US Intel agencies
Trumps mocking of a physically handicapped reporter before his throng and their derisive laughter and cheers…
I could go on and on…Yeah, I can.
His recorded bragging of groping women without their consent…
His abusive/ unethical business tactics- not paying his subcontractors, multiple bankruptcies, paying no taxes by use of loopholes in tax laws…
Trump is a scumbag.
And in two days will be sworn in as US President…

Prophecy 2017

From the time we are born we are immersed in a steady diet of propaganda. We were made to say the Pledge of Allegiance as soon as we entered school. We must stand for the national theme song. We are supposed to put our hand over our heart to signify our utmost commitment to that flag, even to give our lives to preserve the Status Quo for which it stands. We were taught to abhor “communism”, “socialism”, and labor unions as left-wing threats to our way of life. We are not taught that those same heretical factions, which were powerful forces in this country before WWII, helped immeasurably in leading to the “New Deal “of the Roosevelt Era- and that, in and of itself- with maxed tax-rates on corporations and the rich of 96% - yes, 96%, is what created the world of relative prosperity for lower and middle classes we inherited, those of us born in the 1950s, that is.
But by the 1970s the Right-wing: corporations and the rich, had destroyed the left, as powerful forces had been unleashed in the 1950s which set in the minds of the average American that it was dangerous and evil to partake in leftist’s movements. Yes, they still had to make concessions to the Civil Rights movement and the antiwar movement of the sixties, but the vast majority of whites had no love for either and saw such “disrespect” for our “institutions” as treasonous or evil carried out by “communist sympathizers”- the vilest of monikers. The “War on Poverty” of Johnson was quickly converted to the “War on Drugs” (a War on the Poor) by Nixon (Nixon’s henchman Erlichman once publicly admitted it was really about being a war on blacks and liberals).
The “trickle-down” lie of Reaganomics exacerbated the “War on the Poor”, and Reagan’s and even Clinton’s “deregulation” allowed the ‘foxes’ free-reign in the ‘henhouse”. Neo-liberal free–markets saw the corporations taking good-paying American jobs to factories built in poor low-wage countries and the lobbyists’ dollars in politicians’ pockets ensured that tax laws maximized profits (corporate/rich tax rates now max out at 39%). As a result of all this the “Real Wages” of Americans have not risen since 1978. The image, illusion, that is, of continuing prosperity was financed for the middle class by credit card debt, which was also introduced in the 1970s. Meanwhile vast sums of American wealth have been redistributed to the top 1%. Eight Men now own as much wealth as one half of the entire world’s population (reported in a news feed seen today on the ABC TV Network 01/16/17).
In this environment ‘the people’ saw fit to elect the paragon of Status Quo con-men- Donald Trump as their president, in a blind attempt to change these desperate times and “make America great again”, as they think of it. May God have mercy on their souls. Now we stand and watch in horror as the men he is placing in power will surely bring about it final downfall. Like the civilizations that have come and gone before us, so too has the Golden Age of America come and gone, never to return.
What could have been a reawakening of true American “Justice for all”, under a Bernie Sanders presidency will now be a disaster of our own demise, a trap, a snare, laid down for this day since the beginning. That “device” is spoken of in virtually every book in the Bible. It IS Nuclear. Weapons, fallout, contamination. The ever-increasing high-level nuclear waste produced by our nuclear industries is being stored on the surface at over seventy sites just here in America, with no final solution for long term storage ( a half-life for plutonium is 21,000 years- it takes 10 half- lives before it is no longer dangerous- approx. 240,000 years !) What of the future peril all this represents to future generations? Do we really care? The people making the profits from Nuclear Proliferation certainly do not.
Even if the weapons themselves are never used the Fukishima disaster is just a warning of what could happen. Right now the radiation from three of its four reactors having had a meltdown in the 2011 earthquake and Tsunami has spread through the entire northern Pacific Ocean and has reached the west coast of the United States. But that still was not a Worst Case Scenario (WCS). The Japanese Prime Minister said in a taped interview that catastrophic disaster was avoided by the thinnest of margins- if the cooling pools covering the fuel rods had been breached and the rods exposed the fallout would have required the evacuation of over 50 million Japanese (forever).
An WCS accident such as could have happened at Three Mile Island, or a terrorist attack, or natural disaster like Fukishima, here in America, could mean utter chaos and misery for untold millions. Is it really worth it? Solar, Wind, and Geothermal is not only cheaper to produce, it is entirely safe and renewable. But entrenched and powerful corporations invested in Hydrocarbons and Nuclear energy will use every means at their disposal to thwart the transition. Green and Greed are incompatible. And now, Trump and his train wreck to be Administration will soon begin destroying the progress of many years over night.
Yet that nightmare is not the worst of it. The WCS of all this is Trump as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the American Empire… “Power Corrupts…Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely…”
May God have mercy on our souls.

Some want to believe that this "new normal " is nothing to worry about. That at the worst this is only a 'speed bump ' on the road of evolutionary progress. The world survived Hitler and we will survive Twitler. But they are not placing enough weight on the scales. Hitler did not have nuclear weapons. And there is more to this picture than meets the eye. That so many willingly have placed our fate into the hands of such men. That so many would believe such actions were the right thing to do. There is more at work here than meets the eye. Karmic retribution? Enantiodromiated "force majeure" leading them (and possibly all life on this planet ) down this road to destruction? I don't have the answer. Just saying. ..

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
01/02/17
In the early dawn of the year of our Lord two thousand and seventeen, We here upon the Good Earth have bore witness to the beginning of the end of the world as we have known it. Two moons ago the reins of power were wrest from civilization and given to the vile and despicable destroyer, set from the beginning as a trap, or snare, waiting to be sprung. The prophets of old spoke innumerably of this day. John of the Gospel writers in the New Testament also wrote his Apocalypse, and told of a time when four “horsemen’ would be set upon us, and the whole world would suffer their afflictions.
I don’t know if those Horsemen still await us, or perhaps they have already been set upon us, in ways we may not immediately recognize. Perhaps their afflictions have already beset us but subtlety, as seemingly normal developments arising naturally in the course of events. If you will oblige me a few moments, I would like to suggest a alternative history and reveal what we might have missed, or misunderstood.
Nothing new is under the sun, it has been said, and certainly the origins of the lust for power and riches is as old as man. Cain and Abel, for example. In the long history of human greed countless excuses have been made, “rationalizations”, to explain and justify why the rich need to be rich (and the poor need to be poor, as a result). Since the barbarian days the strong took from the weak to make themselves rich and powerful. No end of tribal warlords, then Kings and kingdoms, then nations and dictators, have arisen from the ashes of those they destroyed to get what they wanted. As time went by the ages that came and went saw finer and finer refinement in the weapons of war- technology was born from the ingenuity of killers and rapists. Yet, the days when valor and honor was esteemed in men also was born from those early advances of “civilization”. Men learned to see beauty and practice living as “Gentlemen”, who appreciated the finer “arts” of life. They grew to seek higher purpose and meaning to their existence.
Despite such advances there remained those in whom the desires to dominate, to possess, to empower themselves above others continued. Rulers established dynasties and hierarchies and legacies (monuments and monumental architecture) as a projection of their power, and ultimately, as a substitute for immortality. The people, “subjects”, of these self proclaimed “elites” were forced or even voluntarily submitted to the authority of the powerful for so long it became a part of their nature. They were taught from earliest age that kings were kings by right and we were “privileged” to be able to serve them. Docile and submissive servants obey demands and commands and submit to deprivations and denigrations. This is the way it has been for centuries now. Yes, the occasional rebellion occurs; once in a great while even a revolution may occur, and empires do fall eventually. But the “system” remains, awaiting the next barbarian king. True, today they often just “talk’” their way into power, are, “elected”, by the subservient, but once in control their devastation upon the weak is just as brutal.
This development in gaining domination- “elections”, first practiced in ancient Greece and for a time, in Rome, has been the norm in numerous countries for over two centuries. Yet, again, the use of the power so bestowed has not been any less brutal. In fact, thanks to “technology”, it has increased in savagery exponentially. With the advent of nuclear weaponry it now has reached the ultimate zenith of destructive potential and all life hangs in the balance. Yet, those alive today have been born into that damoclean world and it too has become “normal” to think it is “normal” that we hang so precariously on the edge of total destruction. Most today hardly even acknowledge or consider that such a predicament is in all ways the definition of “insanity”.
That is the situation. Madness is the new normal. Perhaps it always has been so. That the controls of those weapons can be placed at the disposal of anyone who can accumulate enough “votes” is seen as normal. When those casting those votes have been dominated and subjugated to propaganda incessantly since birth to this extent few even think of the danger inherent in the wrong person being given such power. Such has now occurred. Donald Trump was elected president this past November and will be inaugurated in a few weeks. Already he has stocked his “cabinet” with elites whom will do everything possible to reverse the progress of the last eight years under President Obama. Plus the fact that both branches of congress are now controlled by the Republicans means they will have the power to inflict the greatest damage imaginable. Not to mention the Supreme Court… It is the “perfect storm” of destructive potential as far as progressives like me are concerned.
How did this happen?

Here now is the Revelation of NostraThomas:

Behold : The Four Horsemen of the Republican Apocalypse.

Four horsemen… four bringers of death and destruction riding horses? Well yes, they would have ridden horses very likely since they lived before mechanization. The destruction they engendered resulted from the ideas they fostered into the minds of humanity. The ideas I speak of have grown popular among certain factions of the populace- particularly those who partake in the benefits of the “Status Quo”- those on the ‘inside’ of the game, the “winners”, the “members”, those included in the ranks of (or who fancy themselves to be so) of the “privileged “ class. The rich, or those who believe they should be, and the powerful, or those who lust for power, and finally those who want to be acceptable to the “elite”, so as to maybe someday become a “member” of the club have adopted certain tenets as a philosophy of life propagated by the aforementioned four horsemen. What follows is a synopsis of the origin of those ideas and from whence they sprang. Lastly, forms of these Ideas have been propagated since antiquity, but it is the influence of their more modern protagonists that is important here. Each ‘Horseman’ added to the work of those who came before in creating the modern world we inhabit. My listing them as Horsemen of the Apocalypse does not mean I place all the blame for the carnage and evil of our time upon their works. Carnage and Will to Power has always existed in the hearts of men. What distinguished (infamously) these four are their particular contributions to the justifications employed by such evil men in our time.

Horseman # 1
Machiavelli (1469-1527)
"Machiavellianism" is a widely used negative term to characterize unscrupulous politicians of the sort Machiavelli described most famously in The Prince, written in 1513. Machiavelli described immoral behavior, such as dishonesty and killing innocents, as being normal and effective in politics. He even seemed to endorse it in some situations. The book itself gained notoriety when some readers claimed that the author was teaching evil, and providing "evil recommendations to tyrants to help them maintain their power."
"Commentators such as Leo Strauss have gone so far as to name Machiavelli as the deliberate originator of modernity itself." - Wikipedia

"Machiavelli is sometimes seen as the prototype of a modern empirical scientist, building generalizations from experience and historical facts, and emphasizing the uselessness of theorizing with the imagination.[25]
He emancipated politics from theology and moral philosophy. He undertook to describe simply what rulers actually did and thus anticipated what was later called the scientific spirit in which questions of good and bad are ignored, and the observer attempts to discover only what really happens."

"Machiavelli is generally seen as being critical of Christianity as it existed in his time, specifically its effect upon politics, and also everyday life. In his opinion, Christianity, along with the teleological Aristotelianism that the church had come to accept, allowed practical decisions to be guided too much by imaginary ideals and encouraged people to lazily leave events up to providence or, as he would put it, chance, luck or fortune. While Christianity sees modesty as a virtue and pride as sinful, Machiavelli took a more classical position, seeing ambition, spiritedness, and the pursuit of glory as good and natural things, and part of the virtue and prudence that good princes should have. Therefore, while it was traditional to say that leaders should have virtues, especially prudence, Machiavelli's use of the words virtù and prudenza was unusual for his time, implying a spirited and immodest ambition. Famously, Machiavelli argued that virtue and prudence can help a man control more of his future, in the place of allowing fortune to do so.
Machiavelli … saw ambition and spiritedness, and therefore war, as inevitable and part of human nature.
Strauss concludes his 1958 'Thoughts on Machiavelli' by proposing that this promotion of progress leads directly to the modern arms race. Strauss argued that the unavoidable nature of such arms races, which have existed before modern times and led to the collapse of peaceful civilizations, provides us with both an explanation of what is most truly dangerous in Machiavelli's innovations, but also the way in which the aims of his apparently immoral innovation can be understood.
Machiavelli explains repeatedly that religion is man-made… fear of God can be replaced by fear of the prince, if there is a strong enough prince, Machiavelli felt that having a religion is in any case especially essential to keeping a republic in order. For Machiavelli, a truly great prince can never be conventionally religious himself, but he should make his people religious if he can. According to Strauss (1958, pp. 226–227) he was not the first person to ever explain religion in this way, but his description of religion was novel because of the way he integrated this into his general account of princes.
Similarly, the modern economic argument for capitalism, and most modern forms of economics, was often stated in the form of "public virtue from private vices." Also in this case, even though there are classical precedents, Machiavelli's insistence on being both realistic and ambitious, not only admitting that vice exists but being willing to risk encouraging it, is a critical step on the path to this insight."

Adam Smith (1723-1790)                                                                                                                                                          In modern times the Republicans’ ideology (the one currently manifested- before Reagan it was something very different- as in, Lincoln was a Republican) begins to take form with the adoption of the worldview proposed in, “The Wealth of Nations” (1776), a book by Scotsman Adam Smith (1723-1790).
“Smith laid the foundations of classical free market economic theory. The Wealth of Nations was a precursor to the modern academic discipline of economics. In this and other works, he developed the concept of division of labour, and expounded upon how rational self-interest and competition can lead to economic prosperity.” - Wikipedia:
Smith's “free market”, “laissez-faire” economics are what most people fail to realize was the original meaning of what was known as classical “liberalism”. So the use of Smith’s idea of a natural order to economic and social organization based on personal liberty and private property became what is now called “neo-liberalism” and engendered a belief in what the Reaganites called, “Trickle-Down Economics”…
“ It is the great multiplication of the production of all the different arts, in consequence of the division of labour, which occasions, in a well-governed society, that universal opulence which extends itself to the lowest ranks of the people. Every workman has a great quantity of his own work to dispose of beyond what he himself has occasion for; and every other workman being exactly in the same situation, he is enabled to exchange a great quantity of his own goods for a great quantity, or, what comes to the same thing, for the price of a great quantity of theirs. He supplies them abundantly with what they have occasion for, and they accommodate him as amply with what he has occasion for, and a general plenty diffuses itself through all the different ranks of society.” (The Wealth of Nations, I.i.10)
Here we see that Republicans are using economic theory that was proposed two hundred and forty years ago when economic activity was almost entirely agrarian - before the industrial revolution, before robotics and new world order corporate behemoths moving jobs to poor countries with low wages, before lobbyists and tax shelters created as a result of lobbyist’s influence (bribes) over lawmakers. They claim that these now quaint notions are the proper means for the “distribution of wealth”. That the “wealth” of a nation is a priori, “commonwealth”, was lost on the advocates of liberty AND private property. This ‘property’ was originally the property of the nation and its distribution should have been considered in terms of economic justice. Instead it was divided and doled out to the members of the elite social order of the day,
Since the advent of “Reaganomics” and more recently, “Libertarianism”, the advances in social and economic justice, which were hard won since FDR’s ‘New Deal’ and a progressive tax rate provided real growth in income for lower and middle class workers, have been eroded and reversed in a mistaken belief (or deliberate lie) that the democratic ‘socialism’ of that time was somehow wrong or even evil (“Red Scare” anti-communism propaganda).
They neglected to recognize the dangers of laissez-faire economics which Smith himself predicted and advised vigilance against:
“Again and again, Smith warned of the collusive nature of business interests, which may form cabals or monopolies, fixing the highest price "which can be squeezed out of the buyers".[86] Smith also warned that a business-dominated political system would allow a conspiracy of businesses and industry against consumers, with the former scheming to influence politics and legislation. Smith states that the interest of manufacturers and merchants "...in any particular branch of trade or manufactures, is always in some respects different from, and even opposite to, that of the public...The proposal of any new law or regulation of commerce which comes from this order, ought always to be listened to with great precaution, and ought never be adopted till after having been long and carefully examined, not only with the most scrupulous, but with the most suspicious attention."[87] Thus Smith's chief worry seems to be when business is given special protections or privileges from government;” – Wikipedia

Charles Darwin (1809-1882)
Darwin published his theory of evolution with compelling evidence in his 1859 book On the Origin of Species, overcoming scientific rejection of earlier concepts of transmutation of species. By the 1870s, the scientific community and much of the general public had accepted evolution as a fact.  Darwin's work established evolutionary descent with modification (genetic mutation) as the dominant scientific explanation of diversification in nature.  In 1871 he examined human evolution and sexual selection in The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex.

Horseman # 4
Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche (1844-1900)
More than any other thinker/writer (with the possible exception of Marx) Nietzsche has influenced modern thinking and should be considered, due to that fact, as the father of “post-modernism”. [Much of Nietzsche’s ideas were previously originated by Johann Kaspar Schmidt (October 25, 1806 – June 26, 1856), better known as Max Stirner, but he is relatively little known and far less published]
Hitler may not have risen to power without Nietzsche ( I would place money on it.).  Nietzsche, the post-modern “naturalist” philosopher was essentially a anthropological psychologist who synthesized his scientific observations into a philosophy, the key concept of which was the “Will to Power”. He is more famously known for his statement that, “God is Dead.” Nietzsche’s Will to Power was to be his Magnum Opus but he became ill and died shortly after the first of four intended installments of it was published in 1888, titled, “The Antichrist”. His ideas also incorporated the work of the three previous ‘Horsemen’ to varying extent. He wrote many books of great import and I would first direct you to them to understand his influence today, but you may also wish to examine my other essays which address his impact on society. If you wish to do so I would recommend you start with my essay,
The Metaphysical Psychology of the Story of Our Times
Which can be found here: http://www.thomastheodorewelborn.com/metaphysical_psychology_of_the_s.html

Finally I would again defer to John of the Gospels, whom in that Apocalypse also saw a harlot riding the dragon…
If there is a modern equivalent I would suggest one Ayn Rand (Russian, 1905-1982), the 20th century writer and protagonist of what is now called “Libertarianism”, which draws from the Horsemen all that is worst in men and enshrouds it as virtue.

“In 1957, Rand published her best-known work, the novel Atlas Shrugged. Afterward, she turned to non-fiction to promote her philosophy, publishing her own magazines and releasing several collections of essays until her death in 1982. Rand advocated reason as the only means of acquiring knowledge, and rejected faith and religion. She supported rational and ethical egoism, and rejected altruism. In politics, she condemned the initiation of force as immoral, and opposed collectivism and statism as well as anarchism, and instead supported laissez-faire capitalism, which she defined as the system based on recognizing individual rights.  In art, Rand promoted romantic realism. She was sharply critical of most philosophers and philosophical traditions known to her, except for Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas, and classical liberals.”    -Wikipedia

Modern Libertarianism, the scourge of our time, spreads like a disease throughout the political thought of the generations coming of age in this new world today. It presages a time of great tribulation. It is founded, like the ideas of the Horsemen, upon a lie. God is not dead. Not only is he not dead, he is present, omnipresent, omniscient, and mostly, very disappointed. Sad, really.
All that work for nothing. Should have just rested all seven days.

“…For They Know Not What They Do.”

Waking into this nightmare is not easy. I do not want to be here. I have lived too long (or too early, I hope). I dreaded this day since I first read of it in Bible prophecies. When the turn of the millennia occurred without cataclysm, I, and I assume others like me, if there are any, let my guard down. I relaxed and thought it was all going to be alright. I was wrong. I thought the election of our first black president was a sign that we had turned the corner on the edge of progress vs. reactionary devolution. I was wrong again. It was, to the rightwing, a rallying call, and they showed their numbers have not diminished nor has their fervent hatred of change. I see now the forces of evil amassed as never before. Hitler was just the harbinger of what is now being unleashed upon the Earth.
The new rightwing coup of the 2016 American Presidential election crafted the election to their evil purpose (they lost the popular vote and only ‘won’ in the electoral college by the red states rigging the vote: suppressing the vote of those whom they do not want to vote by clever laws, gerrymandering, and now, it has been documented that the Trump Campaign had the help of Russian agents helping them win) and are now on the rampage destroying everything good and fair and just in this God-forsaking country. If there is any hope for our future it now lays in the conscience of the congress- and even that could be in jeopardy if those in power continue to emulate their hero (It was reported that Trump kept a copy of Mein Kampf by his bed) -they could possibly fabricate an excuse to implement martial law and abolish congress (like Trump’s hero Hitler did with the burning of the Reichstag).
Is Trump a fanatic dictator wannabe? Maybe not, but he has surrounded himself with those who match the description (his buddy Putin?), if that is any indicator. Will he turn out to be just a glory hound without the ideological motivations of a Hitler? Maybe. It may be too late in either case to muster the strength of character required to resist and reverse this blunder/tragedy in the making. Many on the left have woke up and see the danger- too late I fear again. We do not seem to be able to fully comprehend the risks of inattention and apathy until the fox is in the hen house. Maybe now, if we survive (that is a big if- Trump has Nuclear Weapons- Hitler did not) we will have learned the necessity of eternal vigilance and activism.
Yet no amount of activism, no amount of Truth Speaking to Power will change the situation: we have a large contingent of people who do not see the issues as we see them, do not believe in the principles we do, and do not want us in their world, not just in America, but throughout the world. I have written extensively about the instinctive reactionary psychological baggage we have inherited from a long past filled with fear and trials and pain. It is ingrained into our being and resides, as Freud, Jung, and others since have documented, mostly in the subconscious. The only hope, if there is one, is to awaken that herd from its sleep-walking – by providing them an education, from the earliest age, which opens their eyes to this “conditioning” and counteracts its inherent influence. Such was once called without dispute, a “liberal” education. When any child is brought up in a micro-culture of empathy, compassion, and understanding, by and large, they will not depart from that path in life. The same applies to those brought up in a culture of violence, bullying, domination, and hatred. Bigotry, racism, malevolence toward women and the “weak”, and the “will to power” of greed and selfishness will never be eradicated but can be controlled with a right moral character and a properly understood mythos.
What I see as the solution (if possible to implement before the destruction of the world) is found in the Teachings of Christ. Empathy and Compassion, Loving Kindness and “Radical Tenderness” do not grow on trees. We have to learn how to be human. We need teachers who are humans, in that sense, and we need a grassroots movement to demand we invest in this curriculum.
Many will deny it possible to be so human. To many, being human is the opposite of compassion and concern for the common good- they follow the Nietzschean axiom of Will to Power in the context of nature- what is authentic to them is what “nature intended”. They have abandoned the metaphysical reality of life in favor of a mechanical model based upon Darwinian inferred notions of natural rights to domination- “it is evolution” that makes the strong strong, and therefore they DESERVE to dominate the weaker. This is a lie. It is the lie spawned by Satan, and those who succumb to it are damned.
Those who believe the lie see a world without any higher power beyond physicality and without a higher judge to which they are subject. In Sociology this development of “Post-Modernism” is referred to as “Disenchantment”. Like Machiavelli (1469 – 1527), they are “self-idolators” and see themselves as equal to the Gods. They have no fear for their souls since they decide to not believe in an afterlife with a heaven or hell. Science is as close to a god as they will admit. All the religions and superstitions of the past are just fantasy or the manipulation of the masses by Machiavellians like themselves. As such, what possible motivation could they imagine for being other than what they desire in their exaltation of their instinct-driven wills.
This is the situation for many. Others not so bright or erudite are less inclined to atheism but no less driven by reactionary instincts. They fuse the mythos of their fathers with the exigent drives of their lower impulses and believe their hatred and bigotry is righteous and “faith-based”. The “Redneck” culture epitomized by “country music”, pro-wrestling, NASCAR racing, and American football is marketed to these “mericans” by the establishment in Hollywood as much as by the beer brewery corporations and gun manufacturers. The NRA and KKK and Militias and so-called Christian churches of America go hand in hand down this cesspool of devolution. They think the Bible tells them to be the way they are. They want to believe they are the “good guys”.
They are wrong about so many things but let’s start with their sense of entitlement and their plausible justification, as they see it, for their bigotry and racism:
The Bible is not the infallible word of God. Fact. The Bible does contain the inspired Word of God. Also Fact. The problem for a modern “Christian” is how to know what God wants. For me the answer is distilled directly from Christ’s words: The Sermon on the Mount. The old Jewish Bible- the “Old Testament”- is fine for establishing the original mythos, for inspiring poetry, and for the prophecies found in most every book therein, but it is “old”, as in, outdated. The Pauline Letters are fine for inspiring poetry and insight, but Paul was not Christ, and in some respects diluted Christ’s teachings on critical issues, as well as “putting words in his mouth” that Christ did not speak. What we do have that is crucial to our time is the Synoptic Gospels of the Nicene Council and the Gnostic Gospels of the Nag Hammadi library. Together these sources give us a better picture of the early Christian mythos.
What we do know is the spiritual and social revolutions Christ envisioned have yet to be fulfilled, and perhaps will never be given a real chance on a worldwide stage. It was his message of Agape Love and kindness, brotherhood and self-sacrifice, empathy, compassion, and “radical tenderness”, to the point even of forgiving and loving one’s “enemies”, and giving up material reward for Heavenly reward, that constitutes the creed of any true “Christian”. This is the heart of the teaching of Christ and within that heart there is no military, no nationalism, no demand to pledge allegiance to any flag, no guns or swords or bombs, no weapons of mass destruction. No wage slavery or real slavery, no genocide of native peoples and herding them into reservations to steal their lands and resources. No running hazardous pipelines through their remaining lands and water supplies without their permission! When we say we are a Christian Nation it is kind of important we follow Christ’s teachings and act as he would have us do unto others as we would have them do unto us. The metaphysical truth of the paradoxical axiom, “You must lose your life to save It.”, will be lost on those who refuse to believe in a metaphysical dimension (or dimensions) to reality. As will the “Keys” which Christ revealed as to the nature of that/those dimensions: “What you bind on Earth will be bound in Heaven, and what you loose on Earth will be loosed in Heaven” – Matt. 18:18
The Gospels are our main guide, and the Teachings of Christ are the tenets, but there is so much more to the Truth than what Fundamentalists or those who think they are think. Deeper insight is required than most have time or inclination to pursue. Yet without the nuanced comprehension of the history of the intellectual battleground we inhabit we become complicitious, or acquiescent, or at minimum, collateral damage in this war of ideologies.
Atrocities have been committed by both sides in this war: Marxist-Leninist Bolsheviks and their violent revolution and Purges, The Chinese totalitarianism of Mao Zedong and the murderous Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution on the left. The totalitarianism of National Socialism under Hitler on the right, and his genocidal “Solution”. But religious wars or their proxies are just as guilty of mass murder. There is plenty of guilt to go around, but the most insidious and dangerous of all is the denial of the existence of spirituality and by extension, denying the authority of God.
Yet even in that denial, as Christ was martyred on the Cross at Golgotha, rejected and denied by his own people Christ taught us how far we must go to follow him when he said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” Even unto death we are to share the truth with nonviolent compassion and forgiveness. For surely Christ, who could summon Lazarus from his tomb, could have summoned Angels to his own protection from the Jews and the Romans, had he simple willed it so. Such compassion is a hard thing in the face of suffering and injustice. And Christ did clear the Temple of the money-changers (Bankers in our time), so there is precedent for activism as well.
What seems to me to be the fulcrum as to how we are to face the evil in the world is in ensuring we have the understanding of how all this got to where we are, and for me, it is back to the Garden of Eden where we find the answer. I see “original sin” as the animal nature we must overcome to reach the higher nature God intends for us to achieve. As we see the evidence for physical evolution in the fossil record, we must learn to see the remnants of that evolutionary journey in consciousness itself. We are victims of a post-traumatic stress disorder buried within the substrate of our thought processes-the subconscious- which is a result of that long, dangerous, and frightening journey. That “baggage” is our “original sin” preventing us from moving higher in our spiritual evolution.
How do we move on, or at least circumvent or control the impact and impulses, the reactionary complexes, of archetypal behavior and/or thoughts arising from these primordial instincts? By bringing them into the light of consciousness, recognizing when you are “under the influence”, and exerting the willpower to take back your mind from their subtle control and manipulation. In the parlance of the time when Christ walked the Earth it would be called, “conviction” -of your conscience recognizing the problem, and “repentance”. To truly break the bonds of the animal instincts within your heart you must truly repent- commit to the conviction that you are under the influence of unnecessarily destructive and reactionary instincts, and have the change of heart born of understanding that will give you the strength to combat and defeat the enemy within and bring your soul,
From Darkness to Light
For it is by understanding we too can say, Father forgive them (and us) for they/we know not what they/we do...
When you do the research you find a long progression of humans attempting to circumvent or outright deny the spiritual reality that permeates our experience.
The variety of said experience is startling and complex, like a tangled forest overgrown with hubris and misunderstanding, layers of attempted interpretations which contain some tidbits of truth surrounded by dogmas and doxologies. Man instinctively wants to capture the meaning and essence of such experiences and share them with others. Some do so for altruistic reasons, some, not so much. Religions founded in these attempts to share the insights of the noumenal experience become set in concrete and usually lose the living truth of the original revelation to catechisms and ritual. But before the hubris is the original experience. Its value for the individual and for the world lay in the implications of such a reality for our understanding of the proverbial “meaning of life” and in the guidance it may offer for moving our zeitgeist toward fulfilling that meaning.
How can we know what that meaning is? Perhaps it is presumptuous of me to suggest one can know. David Hume in the 1700s thought, like later existentialists, phenomenologists, and pragmatists, that we cannot know if our senses report actual reality or merely an “interpretation” or “representation” which may not truly reflect reality. To counteract this “underdeterminism” he and those later such as Marx proposed an empirical materialism to purify “science” from spurious assertions.
“Critical Theory”, such as the ‘Frankfurt School’ envisioned in the mid-1800s, was based upon ideas such as those proposed by David Hume, Karl Marx, and Friedrich Engels, and like the ‘Logical Positivists’ of the 1930s, thought to do away with all such “superstitions”. The fact of “supernatural”, or as I prefer, “extranatural” noumena was simply to be shunned, excoriated, and expelled from the halls of the “Church of Reason”. To implement this scientific “rigor” they determined that,
“The quantifiability of data collected during an experiment is central to the scientific method, since reliable conclusions can only be drawn from replicable experiments, and since in order to establish observer agreement scientists must be able to quantify experimental evidence.” – from “Indeterminacy” article on Wikipedia.
The preponderance, of evidence they choose to ignore is, in my opinion, mind-boggling. What science is suppose to do, at least in theory, is examine the totality of evidence for or against any supposition (hypothesis) before reaching conclusions, but in fact all theory is found to be an “faith-based” (if not calcified) belief system built upon a priori axioms, which as Hume, Husserl, Heidegger, and Schopenhauer assert, are unverifiable. This “indeterminacy” is also prevalent in contemporary Theoretical Physics, as a foundational axiom of Quantum Mechanics. The irony is, with all this indeterminate unverifiable theorizing they still are dogmatically sure that God does not exist.
The evidence for a “noumenon” (-Kant)-saturated reality can be found all around us, but because it is innately not experimentally repeatable and quantifiable it is ignored as pseudo-science. The people who have such experiences would beg to differ. In my small part of the world- southern Kentucky in the United States of America- we have the story of the Bell Witch, of which numerous books and even movies have been made. Andrew Jackson even visited the home of the Bell Family in Adams Tennessee (33 miles from my home in Logan County Ky.) and observed the supernatural phenomena occurring there at that time (early 1800s). Also in the early 1800s “The Second Great Awakening” as it was later called occurred in southern Logan County 20 miles south of my home. Also in Logan County in the 1800s the “Shakers” built a religious community less than 10 miles from my home, in which members fell into trance-like spells of ecstasy during their services. And last but not least, some fifty miles from my home a young man named Edgar Cayce was born March 18th 1877, and at the age of 25 discovered a innate ability to go into a trance-like state, and assisted from the noumena, provided medical cures to ‘incurable’ patients he had never met and were not even in his physical presence. He eventually became world famous as a psychic in the first half of the twentieth century. Even world leaders such as an American president sought him out for guidance. Before that fame became widespread he worked as a photographer and had moved to Bowling Green Ky., where I grew up in the 1960s. Cayce had a photography studio upstairs at 912 State St.- the same place where a friend of mine’s father had a shoe store downstairs at street level and used the upstairs for storage- I was in a band with that friend in the mid 1970s and we used that studio space for rehearsals. Cayce lived for a time on 12th St- so did I when I first married, and Park St. at the top of Reservoir Hill- so did I in 1981-83. Cayce’s birthday is March 18th- mine is March 16th- Einstein’s was March 14th- that must be why I am somewhere between a genius and a seer... but not near enough to either to count!
My small little part of the world aside, noumenal events occur on a regular basis as reported by witnesses and their importance to those who experience them is usually described by them as “life changing”. Whether a Near Death Experience, a visionary dream, a “synchronicity” event: Jung’s term for “meaningful coincidences”, a visitation by a deceased loved one or a unknown entity- a haunting, or even, demonic possession (yes I do believe in Angels and their opposite- evil is real), these events are real. There are also induced experiences, such as religious trance via meditation or tantric practice, and entheogenic (psycho-active) induced “trips”, which often result in a “religious experience” for the participant. These are not “hallucinations”. They are examples of the mind’s true nature as a multidimensional phenomenon not confined to the brain. In fact the brain only serves as a receptor of consciousness- not the creator of it. Consciousness is a spiritual-dimensional phenomena more closely related to the soul than the physical body. It is in that sense, “non-local”.
“Non-locality” is a scientifically demonstrated phenomenon within the physical reality of our universe-
“In theoretical physics, quantum nonlocality most commonly refers to the phenomenon by which measurements made at a microscopic level contradict a collection of notions known as local realism that are regarded as intuitively true in classical mechanics.” - Wikipedia
That consciousness is a “non-local” phenomenon is still debated and many materialists will deny it till their dying breath, but a vast quantity of “anecdotal” evidence supports this conclusion and many “scientists” now recognize this as true.
Whether you understand that the Bible’s origin story in Genesis is a parable analogy or not the message can be understood with a little nuance. The Garden of Eden is the primordial condition of early man- the time before self-consciousness and conscience- when man the evolving animal existed without the conceptualizations we utilized today. Good and evil was not yet something we thought about. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil represent the turning point in that evolution when language had developed sufficiently to allow such conceptualizations to be communicated. Women- particularly mothers endeavoring to teach their offspring survival and cultural knowledge would become innately adept at such communication and therefore, “ate the apple” first, then helped the males along till they too learned to “eat the apple” In this way the story of the forbidden fruit becomes more that mythos- it reveals actual history.
Along with the ability to conceptualize the world using language rather than just mental imagery came the insights of life experiences, human interactions, and developing emotional subtlety, along with the need to make sense of those experiences. From these early self-reflections a sense of right and wrong was born. The separation of death also affected every family group and as early as forty thousand years ago there is evidence of burial customs which imply a belief in an afterlife. Few would deny the universality of such ideas in the earliest cultures of which we have record. Spirit-deniers would have you believe this was “wishful thinking” resulting from fear of the unknown and the pain of losing a loved one to death’s indignity. They would say without a hint of irony that there is no valid evidence for such belief...
Father forgive them for they know not what they do.
